I guess for recruiters, a CREDITS file *is* more approachable than git-log. Not sure what purposes CREDITS is supposed to serve, in general. Either way, if Linux already has CREDITS (with an established process around it -- I didn't know!), then it's probably not a bad idea; but as you say, I wouldn't want to be the sole entry in it!
