Some of my thoughts are: * If you find the to-be-added APIs can be used in serveral places to reduce repetative codes, then it will be worthwhile to add new library APIs. * TimerLib has many instance implementations, my take is that many post-mem instances use library level global variable to store information like timer frequency to avoid calculating it every time. For pre-mem instances, such caching is not feasible. I think it will be the API consumer's responsibility to limit the usage of these APIs for performance consideration.
