Samuel Alexander created ZEPPELIN-789:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: Skip execution of a paragraph in case of error
Key: ZEPPELIN-789
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZEPPELIN-789
Project: Zeppelin
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: zeppelin-zengine
Affects Versions: 0.6.0
Reporter: Samuel Alexander
Fix For: 0.6.0
When a notebook is executed all the paragraphs in the notebook will get
executed. In many cases result of one paragraph will be use in next subsequent
paragraphs. For example, we may load a dataframe in one of the paragraph which
will be used in all subsequent paragraphs.
In this case, if loading of dataframe is failed, execution of the remaining
paragraphs has no meaning. So we need to have option in paragraph to skip
execution if any of the paragraphs that were executed before results in error.
In our case, we can have this option 'skipOnError' too true to the paragraph
which uses dataframe constructed from previous paragraph. So execution will be
skipped if dataframe is not loaded.
