Ideas for possible approaches (not investigated):
- add a query option to each script that shows the auth requirements and
returns. The 401 script could redirect to it.
This would keep the information with the script, and the code could be packaged
into a common auth-check module.
- display a dialogue box showing the auth requirements (if not met). Again this
could be part of a common module.
