re: LDAP.  Yes, it /could/, but that probably wouldn't be useful.
People who can create projects an also delete projects.  Effectively.
this means that they can edit ANY project.  For the moment, this is
the secretarial team and those with root privileges.  The target
audience for this form is champions and mentors, and allowing the
entire IPMC to edit any project is unlikely to be workable.  Having
those people do the bulk of the entry and reducing the effort of the
secretarial and/or root team to a few mouse clicks is a big win.

re: {podling}.xml from the template, where is the template?  Assuming
there is a template, this too can be done.
