Hmm. It wasn't that smooth for me. Feel free to add/remove me from whimsy PMC to see if the same thing happens.
What I did was manually add a person to committee-info.txt then later go to Whimsy where they were reported as "Not in LDAP". Then per John's suggesting I removed that person from committee-info.txt, refreshed Whimsy, clicked on that person in the committers list, hit the Modify button, added them as PMC and Whimsy gave a "server error 500". I refreshed Whimsy and it said that person was "not in committee-info.txt". I re-added that person to committee-info.txt and refreshed Whimsy and now things seem ok. Maybe the server error was an unlucky glitch when Whimsy was trying to update committee-info.txt? Also, should this page be updated to just tell folks to use Whimsy? https://www.apache.org/dev/pmc.html#notice_period Thanks, -Alex On 8/29/17, 9:03 AM, "sebb" <[email protected]> wrote: >On 29 August 2017 at 16:48, Alex Harui <[email protected]> wrote: >> I did that, then Whimsy said the person wasn't in committee-info.txt, >>so I >> re-added to committee-info.txt and now things seem ok.
