@ericcarlschwartz that sounds like a reasonable solution. I see that
you've done half of it by adding the if !(TS_USE_TLS_SNI) in the handshake code.
You'll need to add the SNI case to ssl_servername_callback and the
ssl_cert_callback to cover openssl 1.0.1 and 1.0.2+
