All, The Release Management page ( https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TS/Release+Management) seems to be inconsistent with support dates, etc. The charts do not match the tables and at least the 5.3 dates do not match actual release dates.
For example, the downloads page says 5.3.0 was released 13 May 2015, but the Release Management wiki page says it has been supported since Feb 2015. I think all the dates need to be adjusted to reality. Another example is that 4.2 shows only being supported through the end of this month (looking at the table, which differs from the chart that says Aug 2015). That gives only a few weeks of overlapping support for 4.2 -> 5.3 transition now. Because of this, perhaps 4.2 support should be extended so there is enough overlap as 5.3 was not released in Feb as the table states? The reason I noticed is because Amazon Web Services review rejected a virtual appliance based on TS 4.2 for their marketplace since it is documented to only be supported (according to the wiki page) through this month. They pointed at the Release Management wiki page showing this. So, at least AWS is using this page to base their decisions on marketplace reviews. Additionally, what about putting the support end date on the download page for the LTS releases? Might be a better place to manage the official support dates. Cheers! -B -- Brian Rectanus
