Yes you, on the couch there!
The good man Igor and I have been working on integrating the new
comments.apache.org site into the traffic server documentation, allowing
readers to comment on any aspect of the documentation (or the server
software) they find interesting. One of the main reasons is that this
sort of commenting greatly lowers the bar for participation, as you
don't need to file a JIRA ticket or get your old mailing list account
polished off in order to say "hey, this is slightly, but still a bit, off".

So is it working? Yes! Considering the amount of traffic that reaches
the traffic server docs pages (about 800 page views per day), we're
getting a lot more bang for our buck than other sites using the comment
feature (httpd docs springs to mind), since we're actually getting new
comments almost every day! \o/. It's not a lot, but so far, the comments
have all been serious, concise and valid.

So why am I telling you this? Because we'd like YOU to sign up for a
subscription to these comments, that's why! Currently, Igor is abroad
attending OSCON, so unless someone else starts paying attention, I'm
stuck with these comments all by myself, and I'll admit it: There's a
lot I still don't know about Traffic Server, so I could use the assistance.

Where do you sign up, you say? Why it's right here:
http://comments.apache.org - clickytyclick on the "control panel", and,
provided you are an Apache committer, you can use your Apache
credentials to log onto the system. From there on, you click the
"trafficserver" site and then the "subscribe" link, and you're all set!

Another thing we might consider is either:
1) let the comment system send notifications to one of the existing
mailing lists, OR
2) set up a new mailing list for comments, so non-committers can
subscribe as well.

With regards,
Daniel.
