Should we just move along with the 3.1.2 release then ? I filed a bug for
the solaris compile problem, so we can refer to that for those running into
it. And hopefully, 3.1.3 is not that far out ?

I'm not sure about the OSX problems, I've tested it here, and can not
reproduce it with my "normal" OSX build (on Lion/64-bit).
