IMO, it's fine to ask her for people interesting in doing some freelance/contracting work related to Traffic Server. If you end up open sourcing their work with ASF, great, if not, who cares? I know of several people on this list who make their living working on Traffic Server projects, and obviously ASF is not paying any of their bills or mortgages :).
