I see,  now there's a race between "dev" and "stable" releases :-).

But, seriously, big +1 on making a 3.0.1 release. And a gentle reminder 
to everyone, keep an eye on the backport proposal file (the STATUS file 
previously linked) in the 3.0.x branch, and vote on the bugs you'd like 
to see backported!
