The weirdness with Podlings is that some Podling PPMC members incorrectly think that PPMC members have binding votes on releases. They do not. Only IPMC members (which most Mentors are) have binding votes. This is based on their incorrect belief that as podlings practicing to become projects, the PPMC is a practice PMC. So they incorrectly think that PPMC members' votes are "binding" while community members' votes are not binding.
