I'd lean towards setting a deadline of a week, then roll 1.7 from trunk then. That would give people a few days to get any last fixes that want in
I'd quite like it if people could look at http://tika.apache.org/1.7/examples.html and offer feedback on TIKA-1390 for it, so we can try to include the examples in the website of the next release
