Dear all, first time post for me after trying to get to run svkbd on a touch screen computer.
Unfortunately I face several problems with current 0.4.2 (also also older) versions of the on screen keyboard. Base system is a more or less up to date Gentoo Linux with libX11-1.8.9 and libXinerama-1.1.5 (if that is of interest) with freshly cloned repo of svkdb. Here are my current issues that I face: 1. Shift Keys get highlighted green when touched (indicating waiting for next input?), but when hitting a letter afterwards, still a lowercase one shows up. 2. I cannot get the overlays (main advanced feature of svkdb why I choose this software) to work, there are several (possibly connected) issues: a) Long press (with mouse or touch) only starts repeating the key, but does not activate the other characters in e.g. svkdb-de. b) When using svkbd-mobile-intl there is a reaction to the long press (some dark olive keys appear), but they are different from the ones indicated by the blue text on that key and do not finally print the key which appears, but the original underlying one (e.g. long press on "2" does not show/print the "@", but a new set with 27 keys where the position of "2" changes to "3" with an additional "#" as overlay in overlay which finally prints a "2" when hit again). c) When using the "-O" option to *disable* the overlays nothing seems to change for both layouts. 3. Trying to use the g(eometry) argument e.g. "-g 1920x300+0-0" honors the size part, but seems to ignore the positioning part. Positioning on the screen would unfortunately also a major use for me, but it seems that this is completely ignored despite the example on the webpage using it, too (there with "+1+1", but this does not change anything). "xclock" on the very same computer does what I expected... I'm happy for input what is wrong (perhaps also from my side) for any of these points to finally use this promising piece of software (all other screen keyboards I could find suck ;-)) Best Quincy
