We dropped it back in the day, as our "rodeo" of different finite-state-machines, while being efficient, had to be "rebuilt" every few weeks as the API was changed. What I do remember is that we were a bit unsure about how to handle voice and video calls. We did successfully route binary-streams (audio, video) through the file-transfer-API (admittedly losslessly-compressed, which is a bit wasteful, but it worked) and saw the video/audio-streams as a bit redundant. I also remember that these things felt a bit "tacked-on" in the Tox-protocol. It would've been much nicer to have very simple primitives in the protocol for such things. With best regards Laslo
