It's quite a difficult decision to make, I think. With some tools, like terminals, if they don't appear instantly it gets quite irritating. A strcmp isn't going to change things, but it's best to strip out all you can. But clearly Jon finds this behaviour useful... (Straying from the topic a little,) The trouble is, 'suckless' is a slippery pyramid, and it's difficult to find the apex. The question we need to ask ourselves is, how do we make this nicer to use than a similar tool? Only for very bloated programs is the answer just "make it do less". We need to add something else, too: dwm isn't great because it does less, it's great for its dynamic tiling and its tags. Trouble is, finding that something else is difficult. cls
