I have actually installed DOS on my 1.8GHz core duo VAIO laptop (aside with Vista, FreeBSD and ForthOS) and I have DOS version of emacs there. (I needed it to hack CMOS a bit). If all you need are text files I'd go for that option. Easy to save/recover files out the the FAT partition. //Marcin
