For minimalism, to some degree, may I recommend The Shins (The Celibate Life, New Slang), recent CocoRosie (Grey Oceans, Werewolf), and early Björk (Human Behaviour, Headphones). I have been told I have a strange taste in music, though -- especially with CocoRosie.
