I am a Vim user but besides the highlight syntax and the multiple undo I don't need a bloated editor, I usually prefer to write my own scritpt in sed/ed/awk than the Vim scripting language. The traditonal Vi have macros, abbreviations and a nice lisp mode that is all I need.
