I have boxes running dwm on ubuntu and know some ppl like this and
nobody has experienced this issue which I find no relation between dwm

gnome, or maybe is flash taking focus (read this sarcastically)
PD; when a window loses it's focus and cannot be selected is because
the wm has died. That is in your case metacity, in the rm list you
forgot to remove .Xsession, .xinitrc, ~ and /
lmao. dwm is really a rootkit that stops other window managers from
being useful. You only need to run it once and you are forever stuck
with it. It even effects other systems you use that never had dwm
installed.

Hi,
since i started to use dwm 4.7 from time to time, i am having big
problems with my gnome desktop.
After about 1 - 2 minutes of usage (gnome ), freshly started apps
loose their window boarder and are not selectable
(not in focus und unable to put into focus). Applications minimized
in the gnome panel can't be opened again,
and nothing is klickable on the desktop. Restarting metacity and
gnome-panel from tty1 works,
but you have to do it every time this happens and it happens quiet
often.
At first i was usure if dwm is the cause for this problem, but after
experiencing the same problems
on 2 diffrent manchines with 2 driffrent distributions (Ubuntu 9.04,
Debian lenny) ...
I already tried to reseted gnome with this line (not from gnome of
course, so gnome can't save anything)
rm -
rf
.config
.gconf
.gconfd
.gnome
.gnome_private
.gnome2 .gnome2_private .local .metacity .nautilus .thumbnails
.fonts.cache-1 .fonts.conf .gtk-bookmarks .gtkrc.mine .gtkrc-1.2-
gnome2 .gtkrc-2.0 .recently-
used .xscreensaver .gtk_qt_engine_rc .gtkrc
But the problem still remains ...
Does anyone of you have experienced something similar?
Best regards,
