With Fresch vertical patch for dmenu with xmms-like pattern matching, http://schiewek.net/fresch/dmenu-3.9-fresch-3.diff (works also with dmenu-4.0) it's easily done, see http://github.com/Dieterbe/uzbl/blob/9ffda40a7fe43be4df100aa1e599d4556833b4ad/examples/data/uzbl/scripts/load_url_from_bookmarks.sh for an uzbl load_from_bookmark script.
