I will say right here that I didn't see any ill intent on Brane's part when
he said that the change in this revision was broken, or words to that
effect. He was talking about the change, not about Timofei. It was *not* a
personal attack.

If, as Timofei points out, we use Commit Then Review (CTR), then when one
makes a commit, one should expect that it might result in reciews, and
those reviews might include comments, suggestions, nitpicking, frustration,
and all the other things that might be found in a review.

Now it's not lost on me that around the same time as this change, there was
a contentious discussion on the APR dev list, in which Brane and Timofei
disagreed on a technical subject, and some of that might have spilled over
here.

But I also remember quite clearly that in that same APR thread, Brane came
to Timofei's defense very strongly when someone else on that list resorted
to personal attacks.

So, I'm trying to say this in the most sympathetic way possible, because
I'm not here to beat anyone up. I think Timofei is brilliant and I
appreciate the talent and energy that he brings here. At the same time I
really think he needs to improve his responses to disagreements and
constructive criticism. The response in this case was counterproductive, to
say the least.

And I agree that an apology is appropriate here -- and after that apology
is rendered, I hope this matter will be considered closed and not repeat
again in the future.

No holding grudges!

Thank you,
Nathan
