I don't think that looks bad. It's probably better to just use the string verbatim than trying to munge it. As far as I can tell, freedesktop.org specs are hardly 'specs' in the strict sense of the word (see dbus). So it's probably better for us to just do something _really_ simple and not rely on any details.
