Hi, SVN version: 1.8.8 - downloaded from CollabNet (svn, version 1.8.8 (r1568071) compiled Feb 17 2014, 23:34:25 on x86_64/x86-microsoft-windows5.1.2600) OS: Windows7 64 bit
Status command report a newer revision exist on server when working copy is up-to-date for externals and when property is defined with a fix revision number. For externals, the comparison is done against wrong revision number. It seems it is always the same revision number. It is the revision when property (svn:externals) was set for the first time. Any update of svn:externals property value is ignored. I have attached a windows test case (file extension .bat was removed because gmail blocks the sending of the email) In the archive mailing list, I found a related topic about a similar case. I think the issue was partially fixed in 1.8 subversion release. http://grokbase.com/p/subversion/users/1352m7r3q3/svn-status-u-and-svn-externals-bug What do you think ? Do you think I can open an issue in the bug tracking database ? I have this behavior for command line and also with latest subversive and subclipse Eclipse pluggin (synchronize view). For eclipse plugins, I have a dialog box that ask me to merge incoming changes from server to my working copy for update. That have no effect on working copy because it was already up-to-date. Best regards Jean-Christophe Gillet
