Confirmed; in my case it's not "a lot of" garbage, but many missing
author fields and a couple completely wrong ones.
If I run the command with the '-R' switch, then I get a lot of missing
author fields, but also author fields that show the last commit date
instead of the author. Seems the strings are not properly set?
