Given that I'm a total n00b as far as JNI and JavaHL are concerned, I would appreciate a review of these changes by someone more knowledgeable on the subject. You'll notice the implementation uses the copy-paste-modify-by-example-and-hope-for-the-best method of software development. See also r1451810 and r1451811.
