I don't see much point in setting a date, other than setting a
possibly motivating challenge for ourselves.
If the code base isn't ready, there's no point in branching 1.7.
So let's focus on getting the necessary features done, and then worry
about the release.

Is the op-depth stuff ready for release?
The only other big ticket item to be tackled is the conflict store, right?
