I ve reviewed this patch and made many changes to it. For a short time I would like to commit these changes to a separate branch ie., https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/subversion/branches/gpg-agent-password-store It will be in this branch for a couple of days when I shall do more tests and then merge it to trunk.

After looking deep inside this solution, I came to a conclusion that gpg-agent can give a platform/desktop env independent solution for password caching. gpg-agent may work in doze too!
