Agreed. We said many times over those 2 1/2 days "Performance is a feature." We had performance in mind as we listed things like "improved merging" and of course are interested in seeing how WC-NG and HTTPv2 will help out. Also, a better FS design could encourage more server-side bearing of the calculative burden without resource exhaustion, which ultimately helps performance, too. Our general thought was, "We should be improving performance at every opportunity", but we admit that we're really in need of some good profiling and clear recommendations for improvement in this space. -- C.
