On the new site we are trying to highlight ways that people can contribute to the project beyond submitting patches.
See: http://subversion.apache.org/contributing.html I got the original ideas for this page from the new IntelliJ community: http://www.jetbrains.org/display/IJOS/Contribute And I learned about that page in an Eclipse blog where they were looking to improve their page in this area. They now have a prototype up: http://www.eclipse.org/contribute/ Just posting this in case it inspires anyone to continue to beef up our page and talk about the ways users can get involved.
