I can confirm I had a similar experience. Adding the Solr archetype was a step towards making "Getting started with StormCrawler & Solr" more accessible, but the starting configuration (filters, etc.) plays a big role, too. An up-to-date setup with Docker and a "basic" topology sounds great!
