Hi all, Following the 4.2.1 and 4.1.4 release discussion, I would like to kick off a separate thread to propose Apache Spark 4.0.5 as a coordinated companion maintenance release.
Since 4.0.4 (mid July), branch-4.0 has accumulated 56 JIRAs & 72 commits of correctness and stability fixes. However, 4.0.x reaches its 18 month window in November 2026, so this would probably would be the second to last release to 4.0 users before the branch winds down. Please share your thoughts, and/or mention any outstanding additional 4.0 backports that need to be included.
