The java package defaults to being derived based on the group and artifactId.
They can contain hyphens but Java compiler will not accept hyphens.
There is a repackage param that allows you to set an explicit package name and
avoid issues.
Still might be nice to automatically replace hyphens with underscores when
deriving java package name.
