Hi, FYI, I was contacted by Oracle QA about testing Java 9 ea-builds. Unless someone objects I plan to ask them to put us on the "quality outreach" program so we are informed about new ea-builds and can provide feedback about how well Apache POI works with Java 9.
I also did run some initial tests locally and will push some easy fixes to make most of Apache POI compile and succeed tests with Java 9, although there are a few things that are breaking where changes in Java 9 might be to blame and thus need further discussion with Oracle. Dominik.
