Hey everyone, I am not following the developments too closely but it seems that the lack of releases is really hurting the project. Various Apache projects have already dropped support for Pig and others such as Calcite, Hive, etc., are in the process of doing so [1] [2].
I defended Pig sometimes in the past cause I don't like seeing the code die but without a release for the past 7 years I don't think I will be able to do it again. Not sure what are your plans for the future of the project but I just wanted to give you a heads up with respect to the discussions that are happening in the other projects.
