I've fixed my local issue with the unsupported OpenType font, see PDFBOX-6216
for further details.
[~tilman] I've to read your last comment several times and the code to realize
that I missed a small but important detail when extending the ResourceCache.
The parent font is passed to the CID font which makes it impossible to cache
such CID fonts. Thanks for the pointer.
It looks like we have to remove the whole CID-Font cache. I'll have a look
