Thanks for the patch, it looks good to me.

Minor comment: could you put the changelog after "---" next time, otherwise
it ends up in the commit message?

I made a few minor style fixes and applied this to master.

I noticed that this introduces a lot of sparse warnings due to the usage of
*intrin.h header in DPDK.  I decided to apply the patch anyway because it
seems like we're spending more time fixing the sparse false positives than
reading the real warnings.  I'll probably try to fix the warnings before
the release.
