- Alin said, he'll address the review comments for the vport commands, and send
out the patches by EOD today.
- Alternative is to polish up patches 1-10 in the series and get them checked
in, and incrementally send out patches for 11, 12, and 13. It is upto Alin to
figure how to go about it.
- Targetting to checkin the vport commands patches by end of this week. (10/10).

- Nithin tested the patches for vport commands, and found some issues. He sent
out fixes for them. Some of them needed to be folded into the vport patches,
and some others can be checked into the repo directly.
- The patches look stable for simple operations of vport-add and delete.
Testing has been done with ovs-dpctl.exe add-if and del-if.
- There are some ASSERTs and corner cases that need to be handled and can be
handled after the first commit.

>> 2. netlink integration status: vport, packet commands

- Alin asked VMware folks to take over the packet receive commands.
- Ankur has already sent out review for packet execute.
- Eitan and Nithin are working on the kernel space and userspace changes for
receiving packets.

Other topics that were discussed were:
--------------------------------------
4. Moving up the WMI/powershell script to set the friendly name of a VIF to
make it a first class citizen. Some of the options that were considered were:
 a) Making it C/C++ code rather than a script
 b) Adding code in ovs-vsctl to set the friendly name when we add a port to the
conf.db. ovs-vsctl would have to take addition arguments for the VM name and
the VNIC name.
 c) Getting ovs-vswitchd to set the friendly name. But, we'll have to modify
the vswitchd schema for this.

Overall, we decided to think through this a little more - esp with a remote
controller in the picture also, and then make a decision.

thanks,
Nithin
