Hi Ben, we are definitely targeting jessie with mininet (ovs-controller is the only blocking problem). That said, in the meantime we've been researching whether mininet can be decoupled from ovs-controller. The current plan would be to push mininet to jessie with our patch that fallbacks to a pure, non-openflow ovs switches and have this patch accepted by upstream eventually. See https://github.com/mininet/mininet/pull/351 for our patch. Therefore, assuming that our plan will work, we don't strictly need ovs-controller in jessie. I would welcome it in jessie+1 anyway :).
