Regarding the translation of OF1.1+ instructions to vendor extensions on OF1.0, do we want to move towards using the above syntax for packet-out as well? (in a new patch, presumably)
We've discussed in the metadata thread, that we want to guarantee a maximum of one write_metadata action appearing at the correct position in the input:- http://openvswitch.org/pipermail/dev/2012-July/018897.html The above patch seems to solve this problem for all instructions, although not currently for the packet-out case.
