Ben Basler made an offline suggestion about rewording this a bit as
well which will be included in a forthcoming revision.

I agree it's a bit awkward.  We have been for some time documenting
that the minimum value is 1000.  Any other configurations have
undefined behavior in this context.  At any rate, it doesn't worry me
too much. C'est la vie.
