You are correct that we don't have support for rewriting.  Do you have a 
use-case?  As you know, OpenFlow has support for IPv4 address rewriting, but I 
haven't found great use-cases for that.  NAT comes to mind, but that often 
carries a bunch of other baggage (e.g., ARP resolution) that seems to make it 
less useful.  L3 address rewriting also seems to have limited support in the 
hardware ASICs that I've seen.

It probably wouldn't be hard to add, but I'd be genuinely interested to know 
how people are using it.
