when trying to use conditional formatting and style sheets in Open
Office Calc, I realized, that cells formatted as date (Format-Code
"NN, TT.MM.JJJJ") are converted to numbers. See example attached.
Surely this is not a bug at all?
The local formatting of the relevant cells is "NN, DD.MM.YY" - and
this is respected in cells containing weekday dates. The shading of
rows corresponding to weekend dates is effected by conditional
formatting, by the attempted application of the cell styles "Sonntag"
or "Wochenende". ("Samstag" appears not to be used.)
The first problem is that there are two conditions in the conditional
formatting, and one, WEEKDAY()>5, includes the other, WEEKDAY()>6. It
seems that in this case. the second condition has no effect, so that
Wochenende is applied to both Saturdays and Sundays. That's
confusing, but causes no problem, I think.
But this Wochenende cell style has its cell formatting set to "0.00",
i.e. a general Number format. It appears that the application of this
style takes precedence over the local formatting - which is what I
would expect. Or am I missing something?
Hope this bug will be fixed in one of the next updates.
No bug: all you need to do is to repeat your required date formatting
in the Wochenende cell style, just as you did in your Sonntag style,
which ended up not having any effect.
(You may have got greater or faster help if you had written to the
OpenOffice Users list instead.)
I trust this helps.
