Observing (newbie) students who get into troubles when trying to install AOO on their 64-bit Windows and ARM (M1, M2, ...) based Macs who then turn to installing LibreOffice as it is simply available for these platforms in 64-bit Windows and ARM based Mac versions. This causes AOO to constantly loose user base and not gain new users, where the rate of substitution may be expected to increase exponentially on 64-Windows (and possibly on new Macs) as long as this holds.

Just trying to draw the attention to this important aspect which seems to be neglected due to other challenges that seem to be drawing more interest and binding time and efforts. It would be sad to have new and updated nifty technology achievements, while the user base on Windows64 and ARM based Macs disappears and would therefore not be able anymore to appreciate the new technological improvements.

P.S.: Ad ARM (M1, M2, ...) Macs: although it is the case that with Rosetta 2 one could run the Intel version of AOO the complexity of doing so incurs too much burden, frustration and efforts to normal end-users (who need to be aware that they need to install the Intel version of Java/OpenJDK, which they need to understand in the first place and find in the second place). It is easier for them to switch to LibreOffice.

P.P.S.: Unfortunately, due to lack of knowledge and lack of time (because of other open-source projects) it is not possible for me to try to help in this area. :(
