Although I see the point in setting the interface Font color to Black (instead of the current Dark Gray), I hope it does not affect documents (as is the case for the reported bug) but you do mention printing?
It is not about the interface color, but the font color used in Writer documents as default.
For example, if you open an odt (created on Windows) on Ubuntu (with Ambience desktop theme) the standard text color will change from black to dark gray (#3C3C3C). And of course the printer will then print dark gray and not black.
I think documents should look the same, independent from a desktop theme. Of course the user still can change the defaults to whatever he likes. ;-)
