I suggest that you register on the user forum and ask your question there. The English forum's main web page is https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/index.php. The volunteers on the forum will probably ask you to upload your file. The behavior you describe suggests that the file is corrupt or is not really a spreadsheet file. To post a file on the forum, look for the Attachments tab just below the box where you type your question.
