Thanks Andrea for the pointer. It does not give any reasons for the option thought. I will check for more pointers in the commit logs.
It does not give hints why it is still excluded even the branch does not exist in SVN. Hopefully i find something. I added the Thread to the wiki and added a description to stlport there. I hope I got it right.
