The .INVALID at the end is appended by some particular configuration that was applied to all ASF mailing lists: when people write from some providers that are known to have issues with our mailing list software (one notable example is yahoo.com) a ".INVALID" is appended to avoid a sequence of events that would lead the user to be auto-unsubscribed. There are details on the Infra blog, but this should be enough.
So when answering to such a mail and wishing to CC the sender, just remove the .INVALID and everything will be fine.
