Is a mailing list, is the way it works, usually you can apply filters and thread views to follow conversations based on the title of the thread. You can also choose to remove the emails from your regular inbox so it doesnt interfere with your personal communication. I am not sure what email client you use, so this functionality might not work for every one. But at least Thunderbird, Gmail, Horde and Outlook clients provide such functionality. I suggest you google mailing list management + "your email client'.
